Enoggera Reservoir: The Gap

Just a quick walk around the res, mostly overgrown with non-native plant species (I think). Took a couple of interesting photos. One of a small dragonfly, with very bad condition wings! Also a very colourful beetle.

Trapdoor Spider

Found this while rigging the glider the other day. There are about 500 species of trapdoor spider, don't know which one this is, but clearly it has an actual door, and it is hinged!

Dusty

The sign seems a little unnecessary! Usually the dust problem comes from the road - today however...

Red leaves

Not many leaves, but they are leaves - winter plumage of whatever this plant is...

Pics from Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

A picture of Allan feeding the wild (?) lorrikeets and me getting as close as I need to to a Sea Eagle...

Also a duck - that's what the girl in the picture is doing! And of course a koala.

Birds of Prey at Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary

The koala sanctuary is near Brisbane, and is the largest and oldest sanctuary for koalas. They have a bird of prey show, and though I need to remember to set the camera up properly for action shots - such as continuos focus, I got these two shots which are not too bad. In any case the timing was good...

The bird landing is a sea eagle - I have thermalled in my paraglider with one of these over Bright. The other is a wedge tailed eagle gliding over the lake towards the handler.

It's for YoHooo

In the middle of a paddock on the outskirts of Brisbane, in a district called Brookfield - is a phonebox. Apparently sometimes superman is changing in it... No really.
