Boxing day roo

This roo and his family were grazing late for boxing day*, as it was unseasonably cool. This also meant that unusually, I was able to take some pics with reasonable light. The roos were grazing in the paddock opposite the house, which is going to be a new estate.

*they usually graze early morning and late evening and sleep the rest of the day...

Another picture of the strange insect

This is another view of the insect I took in the Noosa area ( on the previous post). There's a bit more colour in this image. Its not that clear still, but a miracle to be able to take it at all!

Pictures from Noosa Area

Some surfing, Koala in the National Park and a small flying insect. The insect had two sets of very light wings and was about 3 cm across. I managed to snap it when it rested , hanging on to a twig about 20 feet away. It had very light almost translucent wings.

Oh, and a ginger plant at the Buderim Ginger factory. A fascinating place...

Strange things in the water

On my early morning walk by the river I saw a terrapin today. We get water dragons, dolphins, various birds, big bats, rowers, etc. Oh and a crab was in the lobster pot that is tied up outside our gate!

Notice the water swirls made by its little feet...

Rain has fallen, flowers have grown...

A sea of flowers of some sort, blue - on the runway.

A storm at night and one of 1001 moths...
